Call for Witnesses and Other Potential Victims to Come Forward

Sexual assault/misconduct by medical professionals is a very serious issue. Oftentimes, perpetrators, such as massage therapists, chiropractors, etc., victimize many individuals. The reality is that by the time a medical professional is caught for having sexually abused patients or clients, it’s highly likely that there are multiple victims.

It’s fairly unusual for a sexual assault perpetrator to assault a patient or client in one isolated incident. Rather, they begin with seemingly innocent behavior, which gradually escalates over time, sometimes over the course of years or even decades. Each time a patient or client remains silent, the perpetrator believes that the behavior is tolerated or acceptable. The perpetrator develops a pattern or practice of behavior. Eventually, the perpetrator grows bolder and commits serious acts of sexual assault, such as rape.

Coming forward and reporting sexually abusive behavior is critical. There are both criminal and civil consequences for sexual assault in professional settings, i.e., a massage studio or spa. Get legal info about medical professional sex abuse and assault cases.
