LBK Attorneys to Participate in National Crime Victim Bar Association Mid-Year Conference

LBK attorneys Guy D’Andrea and Jill Roth will discuss the use of AI technology and trauma-informed care during the 2024 National Crime Victim Bar Association (NCVBA) Mid-Year Conference. The event features a variety of presentations focused on important topics and emerging trends in civil representation of crime victims.

D’Andrea will present “AI to better serve your clients in advancing their cases in a streamlined and ethical way.” The presentation will focus on the latest advances in technology that expedite legal research. D’Andrea will also provide an overview of the various ethical and logistical nuances and considerations that come with using this technology.

Roth will participate in a panel discussion titled “Now you are trauma-informed: how to serve your clients while protecting your own mental health.” She will discuss her training and experiences in working with trauma survivors to better meet clients’ unique needs. She will also talk about balancing necessary boundaries and managing client expectations to achieve the best outcomes for clients, both from a client-health and case-resolution perspective. She will be joined by Susan Ramsey, Partner at McLaughlin & Stern, PLLC, and Ryan DiMaria of Structured Settlement Benefits/DiMaria Law.

D’Andrea advocates for victims and survivors of abuse and assault. As a seasoned former prosecutor and now civil trial lawyer, he represents those who have suffered sexual and physical assaults/abuse in institutional settings. He has successfully litigated over 100 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials.

Roth is an associate with the firm’s Crime Victims Team where she regularly handles cases involving sexual and physical assaults in institutional settings including boarding schools, residential treatment facilities, hospitals, universities, sports organizations, daycare centers, and churches. She is a skilled criminal and civil trial lawyer with valuable litigation experience.

The NCVBA is dedicated to helping crime victims rebuild their lives by providing support and resources to the civil attorneys representing them. The NCVBA National Conference provides information on current legal subjects, as well as important resources and litigation strategies that attorneys need to best represent crime victims.
