PHILADELPHIA (October 17, 2023) – Earlier this month, LBK sex crimes lawyer Jill Roth traveled to Bucharest, Romania, and spoke out on behalf of her client, Mary Doe, a key witness and victim in the Romanian government’s criminal prosecution of social media influencer Andrew Tate on charges of human trafficking, rape, and organized criminal activity. Tate was indicted in June along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects for human trafficking.
Roth is now defending the woman from a frivolous lawsuit filed by Tate and his brother in Florida seeking $5,000,000, claiming the woman and another victim are liable for the Tate brothers’ arrest and prosecution by Romanian government officials. Roth, accompanied by Dani Pinter, Esq. and Christen Price, Esq. of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, and UK attorney, Matthew Jury, Esq., held a joint press conference in Bucharest, announcing a united stand against Tate and his followers’ harassment, intimidation and attempts to silence the woman and his other victims.
“We publicly called out the Tate brothers and their team for trying to exploit the American civil courts as a launching pad for their campaign to silence their victims. It was crucial to make the Romanian public and their government officials aware of the harassment and vile threats the Tate Brothers and their trolls have heaped upon my client and other trafficking survivors, which is the only real defense strategy for weak and scared men,” said Roth. “Survivors will not be silenced. Not today, not ever, and certainly not on our watch.”

Roth said, “These tactics are unacceptable, and we will not back down. We strongly encourage people who wish to come forward to do so and for others to support those already suffering immensely by stopping the spread of disinformation online.”
The legal team representing four additional women suing Tate in the UK for allegations of rape and physical assault, McCue Jury & Partners, and the legal team representing the key witnesses in the Romanian case against the Tate brothers appeared united in Romania in solidarity.
