Two North Jersey men were injured in a forklift accident Monday morning at a granite company. While loading granite onto a forklift, one man became trapped underneath the granite. The forklift driver got out of the forklift and attempted to help, and both men were run over by the forklift. Fortunately, no one was killed.

These kinds of forklift accidents are quite common. This year alone, there have been multiple injuries and deaths around the country involving forklift accidents at work. In March, a woman was killed at a terminal in Georgia when she was struck by a forklift. Whether at marine terminals, factories or industrial plants, forklift use is very common and very dangerous. In many forklift accident situations, other parties may be at fault for the accident. For instance, forklift operating companies or forklift maintenance companies may be at fault.

Having a case evaluated and investigated by a work accident lawyer is very important, and most such lawyers will perform these kinds of evaluations at no-cost to the injured worker. Instead, most work accident lawyers work on a contingency basis, meaning they receive a fee when and if the worker receives compensation. Read more about how personal injury lawyers are paid.
