Stewart Ryan Quoted in Vanity Fair on Weinstein Jury Selection

Seven men, five women and three alternates were sworn in as jurors on Friday, January 17th in the Weinstein case after more that 600 potential New York jurors were screened after a time-consuming two-week process.

Stewart Ryan, LBK attorney who practices civil litigation for victims of sexual assault, said that “identifying jurors with a contemporary understanding of sexual assault is important—but so is identifying jurors who are open to learning about the topic.” He also mentioned that forensic psychiatrist Dr. Barbara Ziv, who testified about why victims of sexual assault may delay response at Cosby’s trial, is expected to testify at Weinstein’s trial too.

Weinstein’s case is predicted to last many weeks.
