PHILADELPHIA (February 2022) – Personal injury law firm Laffey, Bucci & Kent is pleased to announce that founding attorneys Paul Bucci and Brian Kent have been named 2022 Best Lawyers.
Bucci’s career spans more than 20 years representing clients throughout the country in complex cases involving workplace accidents, crime victim litigation and medical malpractice. He has extensive experience representing clients in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and West Virginia. Throughout his career, Bucci has served as lead counsel or co-lead counsel in cases resulting in settlement amounts and jury awards totaling more than $200 million. Since 2018, he has consistently been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America in the category of Personal Injury Litigation.
Kent has more than 19 years of legal experience. A nationally known advocate for victims’ rights, he has dedicated his life to seeking justice for survivors of abuse, assault, and human trafficking. He has handled several high-profile cases, including representing survivors of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky and survivors of abuse at the hands of Catholic priests. He also represented survivors of abuse by Judge William Bradley, a case that resulted in Bradley’s removal from the bench, disbarment, and admission to the abuse as part of the settlement. Kent has served as an expert in sexual abuse and assault cases on several local and national news networks and programs, and trains institutions and individuals, including law enforcement, on sexual abuse, assault and trafficking prevention and investigation.
Established in 1981, Best Lawyers is the oldest peer review publication in the legal profession. The annual list is compiled by conducting exhaustive peer review surveys in which tens of thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. Nominations are submitted by clients, other lawyers, and marketing teams. Ballots are designed based on the voter’s practice area and geographic location. If the votes for a lawyer are positive enough for recognition in Best Lawyers, that lawyer must maintain those votes in subsequent polls to remain in each edition.
