The Philadelphia law firm of Laffey, Bucci & Kent proudly supports the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). The CAC is an incredibly valuable organization. It aids children who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect. The organization works to provide a multi-disciplinary approach in the investigation of child abuse.
Historically, children who are victims of abuse will undergo multiple interviews with police officers, detectives, prosecutors, child protective services, etc. Having to talk to a stranger about the abuse on repeated occasions often leads to increased emotional trauma. Therefore, the Bucks County CAC works to alleviate that increased emotional trauma. In CAC child abuse investigations, children are interviewed by a qualified forensic interviewer. Members of the team handling the investigation may also be present, such as police officers, prosecutors, etc. More importantly, the team can determine whether the child is in need of medical and/or psychological treatment.
The Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization. Donations and volunteers are encouraged. You can donate to the CAC here.
Laffey, Bucci & Kent Sponsors the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center Mini-Golf Event
In June 2013, the CAC held a mini-golf event for families. Laffey, Bucci & Kent proudly sponsored the event. This event coincided with CAC’s Pinwheel Garden Event, where over 800 pinwheels were placed in and around Bucks County area parks and gardens. Each of the pinwheels represented a child who stood up to child abuse.
