The Philadelphia based injury and accident law firm, LBK, is one of many law firms throughout the country which have joined in a class action lawsuit against Ford. The case is based on allegations that certain Ford vehicles had sudden acceleration problems and also lacked safety controls to prevent accidents. The vehicles involved were manufactured between 2002 and 2010.

The Complaint filed last month in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia in Huntington alleges that the sudden acceleration problem was foreseeable and constitutes a design defect. In addition, the Complaint alleges the cars and trucks failed to have a system which would allow the driver to brake and otherwise avoid sudden unintended acceleration.

The case centers on the economic loss caused by the alleged defect in the cars and trucks. The theory is that the sudden acceleration problem and lack of a brake override system lowers the value of the cars. In other words, owners of the Ford vehicles suffered from an economic loss by paying more for their cars than they should have.

Anyone who owns a Ford model vehicle manufactured between 2002 and 2010 can contact the firm to discuss inclusion in the class.
